Basic real-time target machine - Chassis

The chassis (enclosure) is in the 19" form factor and therefore ready to get installed in a rack, say for a lab application. But it can also easily be placed on a desk as a standalone unit. The height of the chassis is 3 units (3U) and therefore smaller than a typical rackmount system.

The chassis contains a universal-range high-quality 300W power supply with low-noise fans. Its drive bay is equipped with a 3 ½" floppy drive and a CD-ROM drive both for system recovery. A hard disk is available as an option.

The Basic real-time target machine's proper cooling is accomplished through a variety of high-quality low-noise fans mostly from Papst: Two for the intake, two for the outtake, one for the CPU, and if necessary one for the I/O modules.

The Basic real-time target machine is not designed for mobile applications or applications, which run in harsh environments and require ruggedized hardware. For these use cases we recommend the mobile real-time target machine and to a certain extent also the Modular real-time target machine.
