Classic real-time target machine - Compatibility
The Classic real-time target machine is based on the same overall concept, form factor, and I/O subsystem as the xPC TargetBox® previously available from The MathWorks. But the processing power is superior. It uses a Celeron-M CPU clocked at 600MHz providing more computational performance than even the fastest xPC TargetBox® (108). It also comes with more RAM and a larger IDE FlashDisk. Due to the use of a Celeron-M processor, the Classic real-time machine is based on the same state-of-the-art mainboard and chipset as the Mobile real-time target machine.
The Classic real-time target machine comes with the same peripheral connectors as the xPC TargetBox®. Especially, the I/O subsystem has been kept identical. An existing signal conditioning harness which has been developed for an xPC TargetBox® can be reused without modifications. The offered PC/104 I/O modules are identical to the formerly available xPC TargetBox® I/O Options. The pin layouts of the I/O modules are therefore the same as well. Simulink models developed for real-time execution on an xPC TargetBox® via xPC Target can be reused without any modification on a Classic real-time target machine as long as the same PC/104 I/O modules are present. All I/O modules are delivered with the same accessories including external I/O cables, terminal adapters, and test dongles.
Also, the Classic real-time target machine comes in the same reusable shipping container including external floppy drive and external AC power adapter. Additionally, the same custom versions of an xPC TargetBox® can be offered but now based on the Classic real-time target machine.
In summary, the Classic real-time target machine from Speedgoat is a fully compatible but faster xPC TargetBox®. For further details download the compatibility chart as a PDF file.
