Mobile real-time target machine - I/O expansion
The machine can be expanded through PMC I/O modules. PMC is a rather recent and therefore modern but nevertheless very well accepted I/O mezzanine standard. Dozens of I/O card manufacturers, especially the leading ones, are offering their cards in the PMC form factor. Actually, many new designs are brought to market in the PMC form factor first. Apart from leveraging the fast PCI bus they are small enough to fit into any PCI-based system (basic, mobile, modular). In the case of the Mobile real-time target machine this is accomplished through an active adapter board on which up to three PMC modules get mounted. The adapter card then gets mounted onto the mainboard via its internal PC/104+ PCI bus to form a rigid unit.
Because of it's passive and fanless temperature regluation, the Mobile real-time target machine can be equiped with a maximum of three I/O modules. For applications requiring more I/O modules we recommend the Automation-5 real-time target machine or the Modular real-time target machine (small, medium, or large version).
Every installed PMC I/O module is accompanied by an external shielded I/O cable and a terminal panel to ensure that you can use your new machine right out of the box. Speedgoat offers a wide range of PMC I/O modules.
