Modular real-time target machine - Chassis (Enclosure)
The Modular real-time target machine has a lightweight (~7kg) 19" wide fully enclosed chassis.
The material is highest quality anodized aluminum with excellent EMI protection.
The height of the enclosure is 4U (19.2 cm) and the depth of the enclosure is 34.5 cm including the handles which leads to a rather small overall system which can therefore also be used for applications where available space is restricted.
The card cage itself has a height of 3U. The lower half of the remaining 1U is used to intake fresh air for cooling of the card cage and the upper half is used to bring the heated air to the back of the chassis by means of the three rear-wall mounted DC operated low-noise fans from Papst.
The enclosure comes with handles and stand-off feet for placement on a desktop. The Modular-Rack option further provides 19" mounting brackets for installation in a 19" rack.
The chassis of the Modular real-time target machine comes with a card cage containing one system slot at the far right (CPU module) and 7 I/O slots (I/O modules). The power supply module (250W) is found at the far left.
The Modular-Large option extends the Modular machine by an additional 6 I/O slots for a total of 13 I/O slots (I/O modules) and also a second 250W power supply to double the maximum available power to 500W.
The only peripheral component found on the rear side of the chassis is the AC power plug and main power switch. All other peripherals including the secondary power switch can be accessed at the front.
