Modular real-time target machine - I/O Expansion

The Modular real-time target machine is Speedgoat's machine with the greatest I/O expansion capability.

In its standard version the Modular machine offers room for up to 7 I/O modules. The Modular-Large option increases available space for up to 13 I/O modules. This makes the Modular machine ideal for large rapid-prototyping applications and especially HIL applications.

If a Modular machine together with the Modular-Large option would be fully equipped with say thirteen IO106 I/O modules (64 channel simultaneous sampling analog input module), the overall system would be capable of acquiring 832 16-bit analog input channels with one A/D converter for each channel.

The Modular real-time target machine can be equipped with the large selection of PMC I/O modules Speedgoat offers. The same I/O module can then potentially also be reused in our Basic real-time target machine and Mobile real-time target machine. A PMC module is mounted onto an active PMC-to-CompactPCI adapter and then inserted into one of the free slots in the CompactPCI card cage. If an I/O module is ordered with -Modular extension, the PMC-to-CompactPCI adapter is part of the I/O module package.

In the case of existing legacy CompactPCI I/O hardware or proprietary designs, native CompactPCI I/O cards can be installed as well.
