Modular real-time target machine - Power Supply
The quality of the power supply is at the same highest level as the other components used to build the Modular real-time target machine.
The power supply in switching technology is designed and manufactured by the renowned German Schroff company. It is built like a double-width CompactPCI card and slides into the card cage like any other cPCI module. Instead of a cPCI backplane the power module connects to a power backplane.
The power supply which comes standard with the Modular real-time target machine provides a maximum power of 250W with AC input in the universal range (100V-240V, 50Hz/60Hz). This provides enough power for most practical and fully populated Modular real-time target machines with CPU module and 7 I/O modules.
The Modular-Redundant option extends the Modular real-time target machine with a second identical AC 250W power supply to boost maximum available power to 500W. Furthermore, the use of two power supply modules allows redundant operation where a failed power supply module can be removed and replaced while the other power supply module assures continuous operation of the target machine (hot-swap).
The Modular-DC option replaces the single AC power supply module with one for DC input. The nominal input voltage is 48V DC and can be in the range between 36V and 75V DC. The maximum power output remains at 250W.
The Modular-RedundantDC option replaces the single AC power supply module with one for DC input (see Modular-DC option above). It furthermore extends the Modular machine by a second identical DC power supply module to boost the power to 500W and to build a redundant DC power supply system.
The Modular-Large option which extends the Modular real-time target machine with a card cage for up to 13 I/O modules comes standard with a second AC power supply module identical to the Modular-Redundant option. This is necessary because a fully populated 13 I/O module systems requires a power supply of up to 500W.
The Modular-LargeDC option replaces the two AC power supply modules by two 48V DC input power supply modules (36V DC to 75V DC).
