Performance real-time target machine - Chassis

The chassis is completely made of high-grade aluminum. Aluminum is ideal for chassis because it is hard and strong, very light, corrosion resistant, conducts heat and is non magnetic. The high-grade aluminium also results in a attractiely looking enclosure. The front is anodized while all other panels including rear panel are powder-coated.

The chassis has a standard 19" width and 4U (4HE) height and is therefore fully compatible with 19" rack mounting for lab use. The depth has been kept as small as possible to minimize the overall chassis volume and is 360mm (400mm including handles). Overall the total size is small enough to easily operate this machine on any office desktop.

The chassis is fully EMI (ElectroMagnetic Interference) sealed and EMC exceeds typical levels of other rackmount chassis (sheet metal).

The chassis has a very efficient cooling concept where the air entering the top section of the front streams over the entire mainboard and installed I/O modules. The air suction is produced by two large diameter highest quality Papst fans at the rear of the chassis. Power is provided by a high-end fan-less 400W universal range (100-120V, 50/60Hz) power supply. The power supply's heat sink is also cooled by the main airstream.

Although the Performance machine is lightweight for its size, it is not the ideal choice for mobile applications or applications which run in harsh environments. For these use cases we recommend the Mobile, Modular or Automation real-time target machine
