Performance real-time target machine - Drives & peripherals
Drives
Speedgoat equips the mainboard with a 1GB CompactFlash disk acting as the actual main drive, as the FreeDos installation and the xPC Target kernel only require a few MB of space! Furthermore, the use of a flash disk has the advantage that the operation of the machine is independent on a mechanically rotating hard disk.
For engineers who want to stream signal data onto a non-volatile media via xPC Target's file scopes at higher rates (>1kHz) for data logging, Speedgoat offers a hard disk option with anti vibration protection offering sufficient storage space and eliminating potential performance issues caused by the lower writing transfer rates of compact flash device.
For the host-target file and xPC Target kernel transfer each Performance real-time target machine furthermore comes with a 4GB USB memory device and an alternative external USB Floppy device.
Peripherals and Accessible Components
The rear of the chassis contains the AC power inlet and a main power switch, where as the following components are accessible at the front:
- Secondary pushbutton with integrated LED to soft-power or reset the machine
- I/O module slots
- 4 x USB (host-target file and xPC Target kernel transfer)
- 1 x RS232 serial (back-up host-target communication)
- 1 x Ethernet (dedicated PCI card)
- VGA (monitor)
- PS/2 keyboard
- PS/2 mouse
